The aim of this module is to provide the learner with an awareness of the Equality Act 2010 focusing on its protected characteristics. It explores fundamental elements of workplace equality, diversity, and inclusion, as well as delving into the various forms and repercussions of discrimination and harassment.

This module will cover:
  • Exploring diversity, equality and inclusion.
  • Recognising various types of discrimination it can manifest when aimed at each protected characteristics.
  • Understanding positive action’s role in providing training and access to opportunities.
On completion of this module, learners will be able to:
  • Understand the concepts of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Explain the provisions of the Equality Act 2010.
  • Recognise each of the protected characteristics.
  • Define and illustrate discrimination, harassment, and victimisation.
  • Comprehend the principles underlying positive action.
